The Middleton Hospital

The Middleton Hospital was established in 1907 to contain and manage infectious diseases like smallpox, diphtheria, cholera and typhoid. It became the Communicable Disease Centre in 1985. Generations of medical students from the National University of Singapore learnt infectious diseases at the Middleton Hospital and subsequently Communicable Disease Centre.
